Dave joined Ad Valorem in April 2009 and brought with him a wealth of business and financial planning skills that we use to help small and medium size businesses to start up, develop and grow. Dave has excellent technical, analytical and problem solving skills and these are backed by an ability to work comfortably at both hands-on and strategic levels.

He worked for the Milton Keynes Development Corporation from 1971 to 1988, taking up the position of Income Accountant when he obtained his professional qualification in 1978. He was appointed as Finance Director to the newly formed Midsummer Housing Association (MHA) in 1989 where he remained until 2008.

As Finance Director of MHA, Dave was responsible for all aspects of the financial management of the organisation, Personnel, Information Technology and the provision of strategic advice to the Board. As FD, he was a member of a highly successful Corporate Management Team that set up the new organisation and saw it grow to over 5,000 social homes in ownership and management.

Working in fast growing and changing organisations, social and market housing being a constant throughout, actual duties have ranged from face-to-face rent collection to influencing and helping to shape national housing policy and associated business and financial planning. Other notable successes include raising commercial loan finance of over £100m in a difficult market.

In his spare time Dave loves nothing more than fishing listening to 60’s music, going to gigs, cricket, gardening and mini dachshunds!
